s-video to VGA cable

I have a problem:

I want to connect my wii to my lcd monitor. The audio is working trough the speakers of my monitor. I bought a Jack 3.5mm Converter Adapter for this.

But the video isn't working. When I connect the yellow cable of my wii to the s-video adapter it says:" no signal" .

Can anybody tell me what i did wrong?
