S-Video Help

Okay, so I hook up the cord to my laptop in the S-Video spot and hook it up the my tv in the S-Video spot. The tv manual says that for S-Video to work you should put the tv on Input 1. So I do all of this and nothing shows up on the screen. Any ideas? I'm pretty confused as to why this doesn't work. Any help on this issue would be great.

I think it should say on the TV, S-VIDEO not Input 1..... Also make sure that your display software is set to display on the TV.
