Rogers and Bell Sympatico charging extra for more than given amount of usage

Iv received a letter from rogers stating that if we exceed more than 60GB of usage after a month we will have to pay $5 per GB extra. My buddy has Simpatico and he told me the same thing.

I realized that they've done this to minimize Torrent users around Canada since users download copyrighted movies. i barley use Torrents unless i need a certain software then yes i do use Torrents but the thing is im running a dedicated server for a game off my home network, so i hope it doesnt exceed the limit.....

Did anyone else realize this new change?

I have Sympatico as well, haven't received a letter though, not yet. I doubt my usage goes beyond 60GB... so I should be alright

well i use rogers, and have not received that letter alltho i have the extreme internet speed package wich is as fast as itl get. so they probalby have me at an unlimited download aswell considerign i pay 60$ just for my internet.

I'm not even sure what my ISP is... Aliant is a subsidary of Bell, so I guess I'm under those rules too... My landlord is responsible for my internet though, and he downloads movies by the crapload, so I can always blame it on him... Haha.
