right click freezes everything

whenever i right click an image either on the desktop or in a folder, my whole computer just freezes up. I have to use ctrl alt del to get it back to normal unless its on the desktop then i have to restart or log off then on.

Are you using Windows XP Pro?
Did you just install Service Pack 2?

If so, un-install Service Pack 2 as I got the same problem with my computer too.

2 things are coming to mind.

1. Ram - change ram around
2. SP2 - remove it

1.laptop dont wanna do it.
2. uh bought it with preinstalled with sp2. how do i uninstall that?

bump. same problem and now when i click on a picture in a folder like just highlight and hit Del it also freezes up.

edit: now its not with just pictures, anything i right click freezes up the comp.

Man I've just been *drooling* over that same Toshiba that's nice stuff!
As far as your mouse problem have you run a virus scan or tried with another mouse? If you are using your touchpad try a ps/2 or usb mouse. You may have already tried these but I figured why not ask.

i ran norton windoctor and it found some about an invalid activex/com and it gave a desciption similar to the problems im having so i told it to repair it but even after that its still having the same problem. any other ideas? kinda irritating me
