I haven't built a new comp in like 5 years, but it's definitely time to get up to date. I honestly did not want to spend over 500, but that looks like it won't be happening unless you guys can give me some suggestions on better or cheaper parts that won't sacrifice too much quality. I honestly won't be doing anything too crazy on this thing, but I will be gaming.

HDD has a promo going right now for 22 bucks off so I figured I might as well for 47 dollars.

Yeah, but I really don't need it. I'm only gonna be doing basic computer tasks, and playing CS Source most of the time, possibly newer games in the future. BTW, I just realized I left out a vid card, what would be a good budget card (less than 100)?

I also got an email from newegg with a promotion for today only, it's the OCZ StealthXStream 500W PSU for 20 bucks with rebate. But the Fatality would be like 38 with rebate. Is it worth the extra 20 bucks to get the Fatality. PSU's are very important so I would not mind shelling out 20 more for a PSU, but 20 for the Stealth just seems too good to pass up and it's today only!

if your only gunna be doing basic computer tasks i would go with this processor

i am using the 2.8GHz version of it now and it does everything i need and i play CSS TF2 killing floor and games like that very good its cheap and powerful and comes with a heatsink.

20 dollars is a good deal for that power supply i would say go with the OCZ because its modular and its a good wattage for what you need. Either one will do for you.

a ATI 5570 would be a good graphics card choice my friend has one it does everything that he wants it to do.

Btw i am using the 4250 IGP and it plays CSS at around 70 frames so the integrated on that board will play what you want.

or this graphics card : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150466

that the one i was thinking about getting if i cant get the money for a 460.

Yeah you're right about the CPU, I got a little carried away because I was originally going to get that cpu, but I figured for 20 more dollars I'll get a Phenom n blah blah, but honestly, I don't need it and I would save another 40 off the HSF. I have never used a stock heatsink though, they're legit right? lol

yeah im using my stock heat sink and it works great even OCed it a little bit, also it comes pre applied with thermal paste so you just put on the heatsink and your good to go.

Sounds good man, I just bought the StealthXStream for 20 bucks, was just too good to be true. But are you serious about playing CS Source with the on board video? It's that legit?

yeah it will run it good i have that processor and 4 GB of ddr3 1333 and the integrated 4250 it will plays CSS and the half life 2 engine mods but other than that its to weak for stuff like COD4 n such, im upgrading to either the 5670 or the nvidia 460 if i can afford it.
