remote desktop for 2 computers on the same router

my problem is this, i have an hp desktop running vista and a laptop running xp that are hooked up to a smc WBR14-G
i want to be able to remote desktop between the two of them.
how do i set them up?

I would look at this for rdc on xp and this for setting up rdc on vista.

you need xp pro / media centre or vista business / ultimate for it to work.
any version of xp/vista will allow you to connect to a remote pc, but you need the above to receive connections.
