I have a comp that I am reinstalling windows 98 on. I used computerfreek's intructions on the stickied page, and got to the pint where I Type "format C:" without the ". to format the harddrive. but I get a message stating that the command line is incorrect. can someone help?

It must be done from an A: prompt,Floppy disk.
A: Forrmat C:
But i recommend fdisk first.

this is my first time doing it with 98, i've done it with XP but not this.
Then i presume you have a W98 cd .
Now you need a W98 system disk in order to fdisk and format and finally get cd support to install W98.
I can email you a w98 system disk and i won't include any porn content
But you decide.as some seem to have this problem here.
:D

was that It? a slash? wow, I try again then. glad that maybe I pointed out a typo that may help others too!:D by the way bluto, I do have win98 disk. but thanks anyway, and I definatly don't need the porn! lol:p
