I really wanna read something. Ive only ever enjoyed one book in my life and that was 'The Running Man' by Stephen King (the movie stars Arnold Swarzenegger). The book involves explosions and alot of *** kicking. Its also not overly long but if the book is good length isnt an issue.

So pretty much i would like lots of action and i particularly like books about people running away from the authorities.

Any suggestions would be great...

being a fantasy fan myself here are some recommendations from me.

The Dark Tower by Stephen King starting with The Gunslinger.

The Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman starting with Dragon Wing.

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan finishing up with Brandon Sanderson starting with The Eye of the World.

I have more but that should keep you busy for a while. :D

I am currently reading The Night Watch . It's a first part of a 5 part series where you have Vampires, Warewolves, Witches, Mages of both Light and Darkness fighting each other in a modern setting.
I did enjoy the movies (NIghtwatch / Daywatch), but the novels are so much better. There was a lot of things in the movie which where there but where poorly explained.
And for a 5 part series, it's rather light reading.

With Dark Tower, you might want to start off with reading The Stand and Eye Of the Dragon and Insonia. If any thing The Stand it introduces The Man In Black / Randal Flag as one of the bad guys.

Well if you have not already The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is action packed.

Orif you are computer nerd, read Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. I did like the story, it's just that I am not a big fan of Dan Brown's writing style. Okay, make for some extremely light reading. However I just don't like how he changes from one thing to another with in a space of a paragraph or two. It's almost like eating at an expensive sushi bar as you have nice meal, but only a series of tiney tastes of that meal.
But each to thier own.

Neuromancer, anyone? It's the book that began the cyberpunk genre. The book's a bit old now, but the story and setting will never get old.

I am a Tom Clancy fan but his books are not continuous action. There are, however, very detailed and intricate. he starts out with all these seemingly unrelated people and events and then weaves his web showing how each one contributes to the story. My favorite book of his has to be Without Remorse... it is a book that fills you in on the origin on Mr. Clark and has lots of action.

I just read a Vince Flynn book. His main character, Mitch Rapp, is a CIA "super agent" that reminds me of Jack Bauer. Not Clancy, but good.

The Guards series of Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. They concentrate more on the action parts than the fantasy parts of the discworld.
