re-activate after re-installation?

i tried the wpa.dbl trick located here:

but it didn't work. i am still getting the little bubble reminding me to activate... any ideas?

you had to copy the wpl.bak fle too. but it doesn't seem to work anymore as microsoft want you to call in

no... i've only activated this copy one other time. is it true i need to do the wpl.bak file too?

no, didn't try the wpl.bak yet. that wasn't in the original instructions...

first you just need the wpa.dbl. then later on you needed to copy the wpa.bak file too (this was after ms had found out that there were a lot of activation cracks going around). now neither seem to work

You gotta copy the files while in SAFE mode.. *shrugs*

I've only activated my OS once.. but I hate the idea of MS having control on how many reinstalls I can perform before having to call them and start giving them more info than they already have.
