help!!!!!!

o and see my Available Physical Memory 67.48 MB is only that much but i have 256 Available how do i make that bigger

I'm afraid I can't really help with this.

The code you gave with the RAM is too big of a search.

What size of RAM is it? What type of speed is it?

I'll be able to check what the compatabilities are.

I found this worrying comment:

"Your Gateway E-6000 only supports modules made with a specific type of chip. Should you find what seems to be the exact same memory elsewhere for a lower price, it is very possible that the cheaper memory will not work in your computer."

This is what it showed up:

http://www.4allmemory.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.memorySearch&model_id=-369&memory_id=-9311

Look at that price... that can't be right...

More prices:

http://www.memoryx.net/gate6delmem.html

So I'm afraid, it seems the memory it uses is very selective :(
Thats probably why the stuff you bought doesn't boot it.

Notice all the memory listed on the website is made by Gateway themselves?

well it least this guy will give me my $ back i will just look for infinion rdram like i have now thanks

Hmm, the only other thing I can find that could be wrong then is the specced speed.

The website above states working chips of PC800.

Yet, the chips you bought in that auction were PC600 models.

That price is just terrible...

kind of a comp n00b here but is there any other way for my comp to take any other form of ram

I'm afraid not. The motherboard is what controls what can go in it and what not. Ones made by manufacturers, like Gateway choose to be sometimes hardware specific, and tend to use cheaper parts that won't be universily compatable.

Sucks I know, but thats the thing about some pre-built models :(

Your basically looking for:

Maximum Memory 2GB (Thats the max you can go up to)

PC800-40 ECC RDRAM

i have no idea why my comp takes rdram there prob just trying to get u to buy some of there mega$ ram to get more money
