I have now bought and installed an XFX Core Edition P1-550S-XXB9 550W power supply unit in my computer, and so far it is running great! 48 hours of constant chess analysis so far!

Thanks a lot to Hefemeister, bigdog33, Joe C and ATIRAGEPRO for telling me that it was the power supply unit that was broken!
