Rando shut downs?

MY computer has been shutting down as of late, but only under a heavy work load, so I ddnt bother with it. Recently, its been shutting down under normal tasks, like searching the web and stuff. So i decided to go get a new power supply as this has happened to me before.
So i went to pc club and got a 500w power supply. Not a crappy one either, it cost me 55 bucks. So i install it, and turn on my comp. Man this thing was quiet, way quieter than my old one. So anyways, everything is fine, then....it shut off. @$%^&#^&!!! So I think it might be my mother board. Any ideas?

It could be a variety of reasons e.g cooling, defective memory etc.

Are you serious? Dang, is there any tp test which one it is? or will i have to switch out each one until the problem is fixed.

Yea, it sounds like it could be either a heat or memory issue. What are your temperatures like? You can download Everest, it will report your temps along with a host of other things.

A good memory tester is Memtest86.
