Does anyone know if you can put alot of ram in a pc and what effects it would have? I'm talking about 4gb+

4GB+ you won't feel much difference from say 2-4..

Any it depends on how many slots of ram your computer supports, and what speed, and how much i can handle.

mine has 4 slots, and can take up to 4 GB.

also if you have vista 32-bit, or xp 32-bit it will only recongize about 3 gigs.

It depends on that app, if you're running a memory hogging very intensive application, and you have a 64 bit operating system, I'm sure more than 4 gigs would help. But for 99% of people, 4 gigs is going to be enough, and you can always upgrade later if you by 2x2GB sticks.

And a 32 bit OS can only recognize 4GB - the video card's VRAM. So if your video card has 512MB of VRAM, only 3.5gigs will be recognized if you install 4gigs of RAM.

After windows service pack 1 for vista, my 32 bit can recognize the full 4 gigs.
