Greetings,

I would like to know which one of the following timings would be faster for gaming:

220MHz (3-3-3-8)

or

166Mhz (2.5-3-3-7)

I am using 2 x 1GB Corsair ValueRam, an Athlon x2 3800+ (OC'd to 2200Mhz) and an Evga 7600GT (OC'd to 636/838)

Thanks for your time and for any imput that you can offer.

I had tried a very similar setup just a few days ago. In my experience everything loaded much faster with the 220mhz.

But the question is are you looking at those speeds because they are different ram dividers so you can overclock the cpu more with the divider set lower?
Because if thats the case you will get better in game performance with the higher cpu and slower ram. Personally when I had my cpu running 150mhz faster and the ram running 50mhz slower I thought the load time increase wasn't worth the ingame improvement (about 2.2% score increase in 3dmark05).

Frequency>Timings
if u can make it stable loosening the ram, its better than keeping the timings. check w/ everest RAM speed test. youll see not much diff bet 3-3-3-8 and 2.5-3-3-7
