RAM problem

I have Compaq Presario CQ61-420US laptop with Windows 7 Premium 64-bit operating system.
I have MT RAM (one of left) which is Micron Technology already installed in laptop.
I have tried to install CORSAIR RAM (one on right) along with the other RAM but laptop won't turn on when both RAMS installed.
Laptop turns on when I remove the CORSAIR RAM.
My question is "is there any conflict between the two RAMs that prevent laptop from operating?"
My second part of question is "Is the CORSAIR RAM compatible with my laptop? "

Thanks.

Only thing I can think of, is that the Corsair RAM's speed is beyond what the laptop's board can handle; I'm not sure if this is even possible, but it's plausible. I'd return the RAM, and look for a PC2 6400 speed RAM. Laptop RAM isn't my specialty, so you may wanna wait for others' advice. In a nut-shell, though, you obviously can't use that RAM, so you may as well return it, and look for a matching one that you have, or just buy another Corsair and match them together.

BTW, did you try running the Corsair DIMM on its own?
