Need to under some RAM terms. Want to get some RAM off of a friend but wanted to understand if there are any compatability issues before he rummage thru his stock.

1. Memory Channel Mode: Dual Interleaved - From read this treats both DIMM slots as one

2. He has some dual channel DDR2 RAM would I have any issues with this.

This is my old garage computer. I don't want to put any money into this old thing. Just want to get it running.

You should be fine. The only problem would be if it was ECC and your board is not, or you need ECC and the RAM is not. Since ECC is primarily for servers you ought to be gold.

On a thought, though, you might want to double-check the max your board can handle, both in total and RAM size. Some old boards can only handle smaller RAM sticks, like 512MB or 1GB, and/or a small total amount altogether.
