Quick Question

They're both essentially the same. One would be portable, while the other would be stationary.

What about if I said that any hard drive that doesn't have an operating system installed to it as a storage drive, since its purpose is just storage and has no real important value other than that?

A storage drive is usually just another name for a hard drive?

Or do you disagree?

Mmmm.

A storage drive is a broad description of a 'space' or 'drive' that holds data, but that does include a hard drive.

Not so much a different name but a different description of it's usage purpose.

Essentially any HDD can be a storage drive but not all storage drives are HDD, some are Flash, Tape etc
