quick question

i was at a gaming center the other day and they use the software http://www.smartlaunch.net i liked the way everything was organized on the computer so i could easily find an application. My friend who is a little computer illeterate can't even find simple applications out there that'll have a easier windows interface like i found at that gaming place. Is there a software that i can install on my machine that'll enable me to do that ? without having a server end

Just get on his computer, and drag all the icons he uses to the desktop. And he will be okay.
