Quick question on a router

Is it possible for one router to get it's internet connection from another one?

If you'd like, I'll explain this further:

I have a cable box that receives ethnic channels that I'll be getting soon. It receives its connection through an Ethernet port. It does not have WiFi and I don't want to run an Ethernet cord from my basement all the way up from my router. So can I just buy another router and have it receive it's internet from my pre-existing one, nothing will be plugged in the WAN port, just the Ethernet out to my cable box.

Let me make sure I understand the question correctly. You want to know if your current wireless router can send out a signal and have a second router pick it up and turn it into a hard-wire connection?
