does it matter if the ram is about 3/4 less than an average one in height?

If they are the same length and the slots are the same, then they are ok, if they dont fit in the mobo properly then they are no good

length and pins are what matters not height

Ya from my experience the ram modules where the actual black memory things on the chips are short than its DDR2, and if they are long like the second pic then they are normal RAM, thefirst pic is 240 pin, and the second is 184. You can tell because the 240 only has one notch by the pins, and 184 pin memory has 2.
