hi i recently got a new compaq but it needs some upgrading. im interested in looking for some surround sound speakers like logitech, a new graphics card, sound card, proccesor, and motherboard. o and a new case. im new so please if you could excuse me if i dont have the right term. i currently have a amd athlon 64 3400+. its got all the drives i like. its has integrated video card in stuff so i guess that means i need a new motherboard right? well i just wanted a nice pc gaming system and something for school too.

What's your budget? Sounds like a new comp altogether... well, the 3400+ isn't bad. And you really don't need a new mobo... what are your specs (hd, ram, psu, etc). If you don't know your specs get evereset http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en

if you throw in some ram and a hard disk you can call it building a new machine
if your processor 3400 then its socket 754, if you really want a classy gaming machine you should be going with socket 939. do you have a budget in mind? anything specific you want?

Logitech Z-5300e speakers are very nice ones. i have had a lot of problems with mine but i would still recommend them.
just because your MOBO(motherboard) has intergraded video doesn't mean you need a new MOBO. when you put in a video card it will automatically turn off the intergraded video and use the video card.

oh ok that helps me a lot with the motherboard. and also i would be interested in a cooling system. my pc gets very hot very easily. also wat should i buy first? because im going to gather a little at a time so i know you need suporting upgrades. thanks for the help so far.
