Question on a dell to dell swap

Ok i have two dell pcs one is a dimension4300s and the other is dimensione310 Want to know if it be possible to swap all the parts necesary into the 4300s case and vice versa becuz the 4300s is not letting me boot from the hard disk to do a fresh xp install so since the 4300s shell is smaller and will take up less room in my house that be the ultimate goal i also have a hp desktop

I would think that as long as the motherboard holes line up you shouldn't have a problem. I just recently installed a motherboard from a Dell Optiplex 170L into a case for a Dimension 2400. One thing I did have to do though is to move the little standoffs that the cpu heatsink bracket bolts to. But that was minor, the case had the other holes I needed, all I had to do was unscrew them and move them to the other holes.

Try it and see what happens.
