Question 'bout FTP

I'm needing to be able to see hidden files (.htaccess) on my hosting server and I'm using Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional 12.4 (with perpetual license, whatever that means)

Been searching and so far cannot find how to make this FTP prog show hidden files.

If anybody knows how to change the settings so this prog can find hidden files, I'd be very thankful!

Are you sure you actually have access to the .htaccess file?
Are you sure one actually exists?

Yeppers, that's what I found out later wuz.... there wasn't one which explains why I could not see it.

Once I uploaded the file, I was able to see it.

I was reading some stuff on how to make your website load as SSL after putting in encryption and they spoke as though the .htaccess file would already be there and that I would need to add a few lines to it.

I guess I'm kinda naive sometimes, but I'm learning
