It should go away but if it doesn't contact Corsair. Also I have had smoky smells that have went away over time and was told by a manufacturer that this is normal. Just keep an eye on it and maybe even download any of a number of free programs that can monitor the psu.
As for modulars coming loose I agree with BikerEcho again, I haven't had any issues with the wires coming loose. While I agree wires can be tucked back and put out of the way on non modular psu's I think it just makes it easier come service time and looks better too.
