processor?

ok ive been thinking..... im gonig to start building my PC here in about month , imma buy piece by piece... ill probably get the piece in this order, i pretty much kno what im getting except for a few things kk here we go..

1. case/ power supply
2. Motherboard - ASUS SLI premium socket 939
3. Memory - 1 GB PC4000 (dunno what brand yet)
4. Hard Drives 1- 34.5 GB i think it was 10,000 RPM. 1 - 160 GB 7200 RPM (or should i just get 1 big 7200 rpm?
5.eVGA 7800GT
6.Sony CD-RW

im getting the processor last, im just not sure what to get..... should i get an AMD 3800+, 4000+, 4200+, 4400+? im kinda sorta on a budget... i dont want to spend more than like $1500. maybe $1600...USD and overclcoking ive never done it, but i amy try it to a safe point...just on the procesoor.... can u guys help me with what processor to get, and how good will this system be??
 
What are you going to be doing? If if were you... get the 4200+... dual core's for amd will good for a couple of years...

i was reading u can o/c the 3800 to 2.4 ghz and higher on a stock h/s and fan....
 
if you know how to overclock you could get the 3800+, if not read up on it. dont ruin the cpu and possibly your system.
