Hi,
When you are upgrading your CPU, what are the different things you need to take into account? Socket type is one right? Also, is it easy to replace the processor?
I'm not upgrading at the moment, but I probably will soon (because I have a 2.6ghz Celeron D)

Thanks.

socket is the thing you have to worry about for your proccessor. make sure you get the same socket. If im not mistaken you cant put anything other than a celeron d into what you have. I could be wrong on that tho.

Oops, I didnt read the above post.

Anyways, yeah that CPU is fine. And I have that one now. Love it ;)

You need to check your motherboard specs. So you have Socket LGA775? I'm thinking that CPU you linked should be ok to use, if that's what you want. I prefer the Pentium D.

I have a MSI VIA PM8M2-V motherboard (I think that's right) and it is definately LGA 775. Is it easy to install a new CPU?
