Problem with net card...

Hey there... Just found my way in to this forum. Seems nice - Hope anybody can help me with my problem!

My net card won't connect to anything else than my cable modem. When I connect it to another pc, nothing happens, except an orange light switches between flashing and just being on I have no idea what causes this... The computer with the bad card uses Windows 98 and i'm trying to connect it to a computer using Windows XP.

Anyone who knows why this happens?

Pinch, when you connect computer-to-computer, you have to use a crossover cable, which is wired differently than the cable you use to connect your computer-to-modem.

Here is a good article on how to make one.

Glad I could help. Too bad you can't make one... it would be cheaper.

Best Buy has cross-over cables but they are up there in price I think. It will fix your problem.
