stats:
Mother board: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Hard Drive: Samsung 500GB SATA
Grafics card: ATI Radeon 2600 XT
OPtical drive: Pioneer DVR-112D
Network card: Netgear 54 mbps wireless pci adapter wg311
Any help/advice

So, the only place that you can plug the monitor cable into is your video card? Do you have any onboard video, from your motherboard? Also, a couple of other things to check are the power cord, monitor cord, and power button.

Cheers!

There's no on-board graphics on this mobo.

I think you have to double check the installation. Make sure the graphics card is connected properly and seated correctly on the mobo. Try both outputs too.
