Printer is undetected... halp!

Ok, so I formatted my dad's PC (it was chock full o' viruses 'n such)
I go download the drivers to the printer, run the installer.. it asks me to power up the printer and connect it to a USB port.. so I do this, and lo and behold, nothing happens. Eventually the installer tells me the printer is not responding..

I replaced the USB cable, no go.
I looked for a reset button the printer, there is none.
I unplugged the printer, tried again, rinsed and repeated about 4 times, and now here I am.. some help guys? I need to use this printer soon....

Nvm.. figured it out on my own.

check in device manager for any missing drivers for USB etc

Sounds like you need to take it somewhere and get it checked out.Does the computer recognize that it is plugged in?
