April 21, 2010 - Still looking to get into the StarCraft II beta? All you have to do is slap down five bucks at your nearest GameStop!

Pre-ordering StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty at a participating store or online will give you an invitation to the multiplayer beta. If you pre-order online, an e-mail will be sent within one business day that contains the code and instructions. The beta code will be printed on the receipt if you pre-order the game in-store. Once you receive your Beta Code your order cannot be canceled.

Blizzard has not revealed the official release date for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.


If they're allowed to do this, I'm expecting a release date to be announced within the next month. Sadly I'm not going to have time for this till summer anyway.

You're going to pass up StarCraft II for that long?

The decision to split it up into three games is the big reason. Also the $60 price tag. Maybe the next two will be priced lower like an expansion but it still seems like a lot of money. I rarely buy games for full price when they first come out anyway.

My son can not play the beta, because it will not auto update....anybody have any ideas.

Disregard.....he has figured it out.

Try running as administrator? I have troubles with mine if I start it up through Steam. I just manually find the .exe and run it that way. Hope that helps

Edit: woops, didn't see that you got it running.. I only read the email notification

Also, last week some time, there was am update that set my game into am infinite update loop. I cancelled it and restarted it and it worked fine
