preinstalled windows xp on emachine

Hi!! I was wondering if anyone here could answer a quick question for me. I just purchased an emachine with preinstalled windows xp. Do I need to activate the windows. It has not prompted me to and there is no activation icon or anything. I just don't want to run into any problems because of this later. Any help would be appreciated . I tried emailing emachines and asking them but I got an error message. Thanks

If it isn't asking you to activate every time you turn it on, then it has been activated. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

hmm try and do live-update and if u can then u should have a valid cd-key and be activated

You can do windows update without activating. The only thing that will happen if you dont activate is that after 13 days it will no longer boot up and instead you will be prompted to activate.

Just dont worry about it. If its gonna ask you to it will.
