Power Supply question (P4 & Athlon)

A lot of cases seem to come with power supplies that states it supports Pentium 4. Can I also use the same power supply for the Athlon 64? It's rated at 450W ATX12V.

Great, thanks for the quick reply. WHy do they have to label the ATX12V next to the wattage rating? Is that referring to the 4-pin power plug for the motherboard?

not sure, but you're gonna want to make sure that the power supply has that 4 pin plug

You are going to want to make sure also that the 12v rail has at least 18a.

It is just to tell you that the PSU is ATX form factor compatible with tower size and MOBO pin configs, and 12V throughput.
