Power Supply Cables

I am building a computer (my first actual build), and was wondering if the power cables need to be connected to things in any particular sequence.

Not really no. Although i like to give it some order, to keep things easy as in, i use one for HDD and DVD/RW..

Another for fans/neons...

Another for AGP card etc...
