Potentially the longest thread in history...

TLDR, I dont frequent here often due to Discord existing.
But when did CF become Techist? What happened?
Edit: I see there is an older post about it. David sold the forum?
Man, you have been out of touch. I'm not sure about the ownership of CF but I am guessing it and Tech-Forums followed the same path to today. Overall the merger has worked out well enough.

Has the forum considered creating a Discord?

Going through all the old posts trying to see what has happened to all my old friends, I seen about Seti.
Boy, this is kind of heartaching.

The forum will always have a place in my heart and all the people here.

Yeah, he is definitely missed. I am afraid that Celery may have followed suit as we haven't heard anything from him for two years.

The problem with Discord, as far as the forums go, is that its not a permanent record that can be searchable online.

Hose on the toilet busted in the master bathroom. We were putting the baby down so didn't hear it for maybe 20 to 30 minutes. Flooded my game room, and soaked through enough to leak into the garage below, as well as drain through the vent fan in the utility room under the master bathroom. Stinks like holy hell in here and notified the landlord. Feel like this is the start to a bad few weeks at least.

Bummer
Are you referring to the supply line of water to the toilet or the drain pipe? most drain pipes from toilets are usually 4" in diameter and are made of pcv. Older houses are usually cast iron

Water supply hose. Stainless steel braided hose but the end that connects to the toilet is a plastic coupling that snapped. Now my wife is freaking out and overreacting over potential mold. I'm over here like dude, the water I sucked out was literally shit brown. We've been living in this for 2 years now that's the least of my concerns.

I'm thinking it was brown due to rust in the tank that leaked out, The tank water shoud be seperate from the bowl discharge water so I think you'll be o.k. with that. (unless your drain backed up) as far as mold goes, dry it all up and possibly get a dehumidifier (use a rental and see if the land lord will reimburse you) if you have too but just for a short leak with water that is somewhat clean then I do not think mold ought be a major issue unless it has been leaking for several days. (IMHO)

The brown was from the carpet and padding being incredibly filthy. The water in the bathroom was crystal clear as it came directly from the water feed, not the tank (tbf the tank also looks brand new on the inside). This house was built in 2004 and it's very apparent there were no efforts by previous tenants to actually clean these carpets outside of a surface vacuum. I'm not personally worried about mold because it was only underwater for 25 minutes tops and it's just been wet/damp while actively drying with squirrel cage blower fans after largely being sucked out by the pet vac. My wife is the one overreacting about mold because of the baby, but from personal experience I know it'll be fine. If anything, there might be accumulation under the flooring where it could pool and not properly dry, and the lower wall in the garage underneath this room. By the time that would actually be an issue we will be long gone. The only real damage done that I can see if the carpet is stained and it smells terrible in here where I work all day. We're a few hours shy of 24 hours now and it's only damp. Once I stop the fans it'll settle with the smell I'm sure and a once over with the dry vac will probably suck out any remaining moisture (guessing, as I don't really care anymore). We're looking to get out asap, we've hated this place for 2 years now.
Here's what I walked into at 10pm. The visibly wet area expanded to beyond the area showing in the pic by the time I finished sucking up the water in the bathroom.

Any car AC specialists/experts here? I wanna know what makes modern car AC's much better than old cars' so I can (try to) apply it to my 1992. I'm looking for technical stuff, not generic use tints, park under shade, start at lower blower speed and such. It already uses r134a and it's factory fit so conversion is not needed.
