Potentially the longest thread in history...

I know my limits for DIY and this definitely exceeds them.

My porch/deck is on the north side of the house, but I've got good tree coverage on the west side so I'm OK in that regard. Plus Tennessee ain't Texas for heat.

Now now Dear Grand Daddy Trotter, for any project or home improvement you need to do, just HOLD in your mind all the spam and bot cleaning we do for this site. AND if that doesn't motivate you and keep your steam engine nice and hot then I really am Merlin Incarnate.

So far every house I've had has the back porch facing north but the positioning is just so that you got 110 degree heat and afternoon sun right on you on your back while the hot grill is roasting your front. None of them had covered patios. The place we were supposed to buy has the back facing east and covered. It's super annoying that purchase didn't happen.
Worst part is that old man redid 2 bedrooms, the kitchen, and is currently redoing the master bath and bedroom. He still thinks we're going to buy it, which means I think he doesn't know his son backed out on the deal.

When I bought my LG OLED four years ago I bought it with the stores own extended five-year warranty, decided to try my luck and claim on the warranty for a bunch of dead pixels that had appeared around the edge of the screen. From first contacting them to them collecting it and delivering it back to me repaired with a brand new replacement panel directly from LG, it took them five days. Pretty impressive and suffice to say that is not the outcome I was expecting!

Ya, purchasing extended warranties and making sure you have receipt and proof of purchase is a VERY wise decision now a days on any product.

Especially with OLED! I just wasn’t expecting them to cover dead pixels around the edge of the screen, I thought they would just return it and say it still completely usable and doesn’t need repair.
