Long story short last year I pivoted my computer repair/etc etc company into a VPS hosting company. Spent about 8 months drawing up all the plans, doing a lot of backend testing, and overall pre-planning every single bit of the company from ground up while waiting to purchase some property with my wife.
In March I hooked up with some folks intended for advertising, and these people turned out to be way more than just that. In May the sellers canceled and I had to rethink everything due to lack of planned space.
After paying them they got back with me with a whole different package. Separate company, different brand, theme, logos, the whole 9 for a slew of different reasons I agreed with.
My original company will be used for the MSP part of our packages, but the new company will be the VPS facing side. It's been a lot of work setting up multiple domains, going through rebranding various things with the new logos, basically a month worth of work.

Yes, virtual private servers packaged with MSP services and targeted towards employers who predominantly utilize remote work.

Been working my ass off on my company rebrand, been a bit MIA from everything. Life is also kinda kicking my ass.

I have the same issue but its boring at the cpmpany I work for at times and I almost fell esleep because there were no clients lol

Well hello everyone,

Guess who's back online . Been a few years I know but just got the full Fiber installed at 150 up and 150 down what is the lowest speeds my new ISP is doing, but more than enough for me .

Been setting everything up the past week as the engineers were here on Wednesday just gone to install the new Fiber line .

Still got stuff to do with regards to my server and several systems I have but overall getting there despite being a small flat / apartment .

But yeah, deffo nice to be back . ...

I have the same issue but its boring at the cpmpany I work for at times and I almost fell esleep because there were no clients lol

This is me in office every week for my day job. There's literally no reason to have us in office and I'd much rather be at home on my own setup.

Its such a new experience. From when I was last online properly, theirs a lot that has changed being 150 up and 150 down is lowest my new ISP is doing, the highest being 900 up & down . Compared to the ADSL line, downloading the likes of Ubuntu Server was such a breeze even though I'm still to get it installed and set up properly .

One thing I will say is in the next few weeks I'm going to be looking at my own Router from somewhere like amazon. Not to be diss'ing the tech but what they have given me is horrible the new ISP. It works and is very easy to use but I'm needing something more technical when it comes to getting my teeth in to something more of the enthusiastic market .

But yeah, this is nice .

For the past several years I've been out the game, having set up my systems running on my new fiber line got me thinking to ask the question, how many people here use there systems for multiple reasons.

I'll give you an example, I've got my old duel core Pentium Server what I have broken more Ubuntu server installs on than anything else when trying new things in order to learn about the technology, from running server to client setups on SSH to running open VPN installations, changing config files then setting up the likes of multi server systems to go out to the internet .

I've also got my laptop, and Linux Mint installation of 21.3 on my old duel core Dell Vostro running an upgraded 4Gib of memory and two hard drives side by side for storage capacity.

It got me thinking to ask the question as a lot of people on here are more knowledgeable than me, how many of you especially you guys who work in the tech industry have an interest in Linux, running multi system setups or have your own server/s and if you do have the likes of your own server, or are running multi system setups what is it you do.

There has been so much I have learned from techist and tech-forums, asking google question after question after question..

I've had my VPN provider for several years now but recently been looking in to the core of openvpn CE, what is 100% down to the individual who is setting everything up, installation and the likes of maintenance to rely only on them selves.

With me I'm 100% on my own, no one else in my family or friends are as much in to there tech as what I am, let alone running bash scripts or Ubuntu installations.

I know I've done a lot of different thing and there would be to much to mention here in a thread post over the years but for me its about having the tools to problem solve, learning new things, for when you get that eureka moment, and everything falls in to place, you can kinda say I done that on my own and that's something else I've learned.

What do you guys think, any here like me, or do anyone here see tech as something to be simply used like a mobile phone, use it for a few years then upgrade. Kinda like disposable tech.
