Potentially the longest thread in history...

Wow, that's super ancient to want that.. :p but hey if really works with your flow/ vibe style ok.

I just woulda thought that, you by now. would have a case or setup where you either have a high end sound card with a extra long cable to go in back OR, a high end motherboard/sound card with internal connection to a more and better located Jack on the tower/case ( you know top end of case or front top) with a lil extra wire.
I do. Since I was supposed to buy that house my current setup was meant to be temp, and with my prior screen having 4 HDMI in I simply used HDMI audio to TV then audio out jack to my receiver for stereo. That way there my PC, Mac, and work laptop can all have audio going out to same source without me switching inputs on my receiver. One of the main selling points of this monitor for me was eARC support for when I eventually upgrade my old analog Yamaha receiver for my surround sound to a Marantz but that was a "when I have my work laptop and Mac on another desk" kind of situation in a bigger room. For the time being I have the audio cable going to my PC and I'll just have to use headphones on my Mac.

Sup ya'll, been a while. Just visiting some old threads for nostalgia's sake. I'm surprised this site is still kicking. tech-forums.net was probably the first "social media" I ever had exposure to. Cool to be able to post here again instead of just digging up old pages on the wayback machine. Feels wrong not to be on my P4 machine, though, I'll have to dig that out of the closet. Cheers

Yea we won't let it die lol

Its been awhile since i was here too. Hope everyone had a safe fun 4th. I am having issues with my hands and i have braces on them and getting shots for the thumb. Not easy to peck at the keyboard and working on the model railroad is zip. I got to go back Monday and then see because right now, it feels worse than before. Some of that could be the rain storms we have been getting, but just don't know how long it will take. I hope soon as i am halfway bored to death. Hope everyone is well and may see some of ya around.

Good to see you around, Dan. I have been wondering about you. I hate to hear about your hands, but hopefully they can find something to help them.

The finished (for now) upgrade. I want to find some cable extensions and adapters to clean it up a bit, but I'm happy with it overall.

Speaking of cable extensions and adapters, anyone have any links to some decent ones?

I'm looking for a good 24-pin extension that the cables don't look like a wadded up mess, as well as two 8-pin GPU.. It would be awesome if I could find a cable that would go straight from my PSU (Asus ROG Strix 1200W).

I'm also looking for a 180-degree adapter for the Gen 3.2 USB-C header. I think I have found a 90-degree for the USB 3.2 header.
