Possessed Space Bar

My space bar is out of control. Everytime i press it, the cursor zooms to the upper right hand corner. sometimes my mouse will keep scrolling to one of the corners for a couple seconds with either my optical or mouse button. It' driving me crazy.....

try the "on-screen keyboard" included with windows. see if it still does it.

start > all programs > accesories > accesibility > on-screen keyboard

i read about a virus which causes problems with your keyboard!

It wasn't that bad, until i had to hunt my cursor down to it POST. heh. I am using my Toshiba Tecra's keyboard. The onscreen keyboard doesn't goof up but its even more of a pain. I also ran a virus scan and all I got rid of was java/shinwow trojan.

are any other buttons freaking out or is it just your keyboard.. i still can't comprehend why your spacebar would cause the mouse cursor to move...i've never heard of this.. ever.

panzer, if you are using Internet Explorer, or Fire Fox, just press alt+s to post.

Anyways, I have never heard of this at all either. Really weird. I say try connections.

To me, it looks like something conductive is in there. Take out the space bar and clean it. Sometimes, conductive stuff can do crazy stuff...
