Is this an IDE drive? How is the jumper set? Is it slave or master? And is the drive being detected at POST?

Age Of Empires FTW!

Jumper, the a little cap on that connects one pin to another, like this:

It could be set to slave, and as your drive is master, the jumper should be set accordingly. You'll have to experiment to find the right position.

POST is the series of lines you see when you first boot up. It will list all the detected hardware. Alternatively, you could enter your BIOS (usually the key is delete) and see if the drive is present. Is it present in "My Computer" too?

You enter the BIOS before your OS boots. The key is most commonly delete, but it could be something else, you need to press it at POST.
