Yeah, he recently gave a little conference about Digital Astrophotography for the local amateur group - it was quite a success. Don't hold your breath tho, I think he's out of town. I'll browse my received files at home to see if I have any of his.

We do have evidence of extrasolar planets. A process in which we look at the star and measure its wobble using the doppler affect. If the Star moves back in forth then there are planets orbiting it. We also sometimes see a Planet pass infront of the Star blocking some of its light. Though that is rare, and in some cases hard to detect depending on how far that star is.
 
... and how small the planet is. So far, a little over 100 planets orbiting other stars have been discovered. We call them extrasolar planets. Most of them are of the side of Jupiter, or larger. That's probably because we still can't detect the small ones.
