I got some laptops from scott fetzer, 1 had a bad mobo and the lcd bridge was shot, so i pulled the cpu/ram/good parts and chucked it in the trash. I was messing with this retarded pc chips system, which is too slow to run a decent version of windows(P4 Williamette 1.8), so i took the cpu and it fit in the socket perfectly. Its a decent upgrade and the fsb is 400mhz, i was wondering if it would work in the desktop?

Current Setup:
Intel Pentium 4 1.8Ghz(256k,400mhz)
PCCHIPS M925G REV9.01B
1024MB DDR333-2.5
WD80GB-EIDE133
Linux 10.04LTS 32 bit (barely runs)

CPU:
Intel Pentium M 1.5Ghz(1024kb,400mhz, fits in PGA478 Desktop socket)

that adapter looks expensive, since the cpu just drops right in, do you think i could use it without the dapter?
