pc's won't turn on

i just recently aquired a compag 5500 and a 6000 both of them will not power on the 6000 trys the moment it is pluged in beeps then stops. the 5000 does nothing i have tried other power supplies but im not sure on the state of the power supply i used....any suggestions?

Did you get them from the same source? Where?

If you've tried different PSU's and they all do the same thing, then I have no idea I'm afraid

yea they were my g/f's mom's and gmas..i know the 6000 got a very bad virus....but i took the hd out and it won't even post in bios

Only one or two viruses can actually break a PC physically, and they are extremely rare.

What do the beeps sound like? Are they in a sequence, and how many are there?

WOW. to dead pc's , please dont come to my house, i Like my pc..lol..
First thing is first- When where these PC's last working? Where they at someones house and turned on durning a storm? (BANG)..??

--Has anything been changed or swapped in the PC's
-- Try unplugging everything (from the Hard drive down to the floppy, RAM) but leave the power to the mainboard connected. Oh while your in there give the PC a good clean out so its totally free of evil dust.

-- Now Plug the PC into some other wall plug (rule out your wall plug).
-- What happens now?
