PC will not allow me to install any programs

I just found something out today that is currently affecting my PC. When I go and try and download/install any program from the internet it and I tried serveral programs that I downloaded when I try to install the I get this "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate promissions to access the item." I am the admin so I should be able to install them.

Any ideas?

No, I don't. I currently use firefox.

Ahhh ok, try doing it in Safe Mode...does that work then?

Where are you downloading the files to? Browse to the folder they are contained in, right click on the folder and select 'Properties' and make sure you have read/write access.

I do have read/write access. Could you be malware and/or a virus?

Very well could be, have you also installed any new programs recently?

Not Recently..I am starting to notice also that it is extremely slow when trying to update AVG, CCleaner, MSE, Malware bytes, Windows Updates. Basically anything that has a update button with the program.

Appears to affect .exe files...
