PC not turning on

i dont think its the PSU since he said he tried switching them.

Try using a different board or CPU.

Ah. My bad, helps to read.

Id try a different CPU. Make sure everything is seated correctly. Make sure all wires are connected.

no luck with the other cpu.
ill take pics of what the mobo looks like with the psu connected.

anyone?
I need this working, my dad's laptop broke and he needs a pc so he can check his bank account etc..

This is what happened to my Gateway. I just got it working recently and now it stopped working again. It's exactly the same case as you. I'm not sure what I did to get it working.

nothing, it has never worked :(

EDIT: I went out and got a asrock p4i65g today for 100 dollars to replace the asus.
thank you for all the replies anyway.

I have a older pentium 4 rig that is not powering on but there is green lights on the motherboard. specs are as follows
p4 1.7 GHz socket 478
old ass asus mobo with agp
512mb ddr 3200
400 watt psu
dvd rom and cd writer
geforce 4 mx 400
I have tried switching the ram graphics card and psu.
I have another 2.2GHz Celeron that I could use with this but im not sure if the fsb will conflict with the old board.
im am not exactly sure of the mobo's model number, i will post it later on

I say power supply.

Although it IS odd that the mobo has power. Does ANYTHING happen when you push the button on? Any fan movement, sounds, lights?

I would say PSU. As someone asked above. Do any of the fans come on?

Do you have another desktop?

Take the PSU from that, and try it with this one....

The OP stated that he tried another power supply. Reading threads helps when you are trying to help someone.
