i can get into the pre fetch folder, but how do i clear it? i have de fraged it and would like to run a sfc on it. it seems to be lasting longer without freezing at the moment. if i type in "sfc" it does nothing at the momoent.

Personally, i don't think reformatting is radical...You have to back up your data on a couple of cd's but at least then you have a fully clean system..
