Thanks! I have a question for you guys. CompTIA site says:

Effective January 1, 2011, all new CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications will be valid for three years from the date the candidate is certified.

But it says all "new", so does that mean since the 220-701/2 is a 2009 edition then it doesn't expire?

From what i've read and heard from CompTIA, any exams you pass AFTER 1/1/2011 will expire three years from the date you pass it. It's their way of staying 'relevant.'

The issue is people pass the A+ 8 years ago and they are still technically A+ certified even though the hardware they were tested on has changed dramatically over the past 8 years.

You're right. I just viewed the PDF and it expires in 3 years.
