Parallel / Cat5 Printer Installation

if you read the original post you'd find,

Firstly, he already has a cat5 connection on the printer, the question is whether it causes problems.
Firstly, there is nothing wrnog with the printer,

if you read further down you'd find that the printer wasn't fecked at all, in fact it seems he's a teccy whos fixing the printer, and he just can't get it to break.

Lastly, not all printers have Usb, not all printers have Cat5, and certainly not all printers have parallel.

Soltech, whilst I don't see any obvious problems with using both the parallel printer and the cat5 port, remember that the print jobs will com in on different devices, and be stored in the same memory, I'm not sure how the prniter would stack jobs in it's memory, but I assume that this is a very possible cause of the problem, there is no real need for the parallel connection is there? surely the machine that uses that is on the network?
