How far could I overclock my 3.00GHz P4 HT 530 to, using my original Intel fan & heatsink that came with it? (without it overheating and frying) :D

And if theres a relatively cheap fan & heatsink compatible with Socket 478 which is colder and quieter (allowing me to overclock even higher), that'd be a big help too

ALSO: my fan and heatsink are secured by a large clamp (http://resellers.bettercomponents.be/images/intel-fan.jpg),
so wouldnt a new fan without a clamp fall out? explain please

cpu cooler says it supports a presscot(your cpu core) up to 3.4ghz so the temp at 3.4 should be around 40c which is probaly the max this cpu will as of clock speed(not a good ocer)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835100007
its lowered cpu temps up to 10c its a MUST for EVERYBODY(wish they inculued in in every cpu box)
all that for under 20 bucks pretty good you might be able to hit 3.6 if you got a nice chip heat shouldnt be too much of a problem prescotts can take a lot of heat

Thanks very much.

My Current fan and heatsink uses a clamp which holds on to the motherboard, so if i installed this, wouldnt it just fall out?

no, it doesn't fall out. :D
I use the zalman 7700 Cu and I like it. Not the best one out there but IMO it was good for the price.

And you could probably get to 3.4-3.5Ghz.
