I prefer not to arbitrarily assign numerical values to subjective issues or ideas.
Now put that into a language I can understand please. Thanks.
It does what it's supposed to do. And it's free. 10/10
OpenOffice Writer gets 11/10
OpenOffice Spreadsheet gets 8/10
OpenOffice Impress gets 6/10
OpenOffice Math gets 9/10

I think that's all the pieces of OpenOffice. Overall, it gets a 8.5/10
That's what I prefer not to do.

Yea I recommend openoffice to students simply because it's free and it gets the job done, but for business users, going with M$ Office is way better simply because of the features the business users can use to be more productive and efficient.

I myself use M$ office 2003 and I would rather have it over any other office suite. It's worth paying for.

It has everything I need. OpenOffice is great.

To check the compatibility of my documents, I use Microsoft Word Viewer (free from the Microsoft website), to verify the document saved by OO.

When I got a client that can not afford a copy of MS Office, I install Open Office on their computer.

There is nothing new about this. OpenOffice as been around for a very long time.

No-one said it was new... did they ?
