I live in a rural area where there is no cable or even DSL available. My only other alternative is satellite.

Your upgrade is not related to the new FCC rules but is good for you nonetheless. I'm jealous and wish I could get an upgrade, my connection tops out at 4Mbps down and costs my employer $138/month!

This is true. We have the same internet strollin. And we HATE dish. Prices are absolutely pathetically over priced to get net rural. It's not $138 but too damn close! Worst part is, my brother lives maybe 15 minutes away and has unlimited charter for less than half!

I have Dish satellite for TV only. My internet connection is completely separate and not satellite based.
